WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for "The Alpha and the Omega," the Krypton Season 2 finale.

At long last, Krypton has given Adam Strange his signature jetpack. In Wednesday's Season 2 finale, "The Alpha and the Omega," Val-El creates the device for the DC hero as thanks for saving his life.

Last week, Adam pushed Val out of the way of a mine cave-in, and was caught in the collapse himself. The accident paralyzed him, but both men made it out alive.

When this week's episode opens, Adam laments to Nyssa about his injury. "You will walk again, Adam," she assures. "Val is not going to stop until he finds a way."

"There was a time I'd have gone back with this and hit the undo button on what happened to me," Adam says, showing her his Zeta-Beam device.

"You still could," she points out.

"No. This little dick-puncher comes with consequences. The universe-ending kind," he explains, becoming woozy from the pain medication administered to him. "It was given to me by this inventor named Sardath. Dude is so smart he could tutor Val. There is nothing about space-time he doesn't know... My guess, he's on his home planet of Rann. Hell of a planet. Unparalleled technology. It's kind of the Zeta-Beam's default destination, so I got to know it pretty well, and his daughter Alanna. That was a long time ago."

When Nyssa suggests Sardath could help him now, Adam laughs: "Sardath is not going to help me do anything, OK? He kind of forbade the zeta beam from ever being equipped for time travel. Didn't want someone just bouncing around through time, willy-nilly."

"You modified that thing for time travel?" Nyssa shoots back.

"It was a slight tweak! I just slipped it into the settings," he admits. "But I'm done with Rann and through meddling with time. I've caused enough damage. I have to live with my choices now."

Of course, this conversation ends up being a mistake on Adam's part. Nyssa learns enough to operate the Zeta-Beam on her own, and takes it to begin her search for her son Jor-El. That leads her to transporting herself to Rann in search of Sardath.

Without his Zeta-Beam, Adam is stranded on Krypton. He later confesses to Val that his home life on Earth wasn't that great anyway. He reveals his mother had died in childbirth and that his father resented him for it, although they did share a love of baseball. He admits Seg and Val are more a family to him than his own had ever been.

"You put your life on the line for me, for my family, for all of Krypton, and I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you," Val says -- and he made good on that soon enough.

By the end of the episode, Val has created leg braces for Adam that enable him to walk again. What's more, the braces are attached to the jetpack, allowing him to fly. Adam shows that off to Seg as the resistance celebrates General Zod's defeat.

"Look! Val made me legs! Or braces. He made me leg braces," Adam rejoices, having imbibed a little too much during the party. "Anyway, look! I think I can walk! It's a goddamn Christmas miracle. Anyway, that's beside the point. I got a jetpack. You know what that means? It means I can fly, bitches!"

With that, he activates the jetpack, which launches him into the ceiling. He collapses to the floor, howling with laughter. Val joins him, and eventually Seg does too.

As such, Adam will wear his iconic jetpack moving forward. In the comics, of course, Adam wears a red jumpsuit, with a silver jetpack. The jetpack's harness clips over his chest in a big, silver "X." In the Syfy series to date, he had only ever worn typical Earth clothes like jeans and hoodies, but that has changed irrevocably with the Season 2 finale.

Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange, Georgina Campbell as Lyta-Zod, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogbomo as Jayna-Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex, Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em, Ian McElhinney as Val-El and Blake Ritson as Brainiac.
