SyFy's Krypton may be the first step in expanding the science fiction corner of the DC Universe. At the Television Critics Association winter press tour, executive producer David S. Goyer and DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns suggested that the Green Lantern Corps and Omega Men could appear in the series down the line.

"The deal with the show is it's kind of this gateway into the DC science fiction universe," Goyer explained. "Because also the Phantom Zone figures into this show, it means we can delve into other times and planets eventually."

"Any of these characters could eventually show up," Johns added.

"Even the inclusion of Adam Strange, that should tip you off that it's not just going to be on Krypton," Goyer said.

In the new trailer for the upcoming series, Adam Strange -- a hero originally from Earth -- arrives from the future with a warning. Adam informs Superman's grandfather Seg-El of Krypton’s impending destruction, two generations from now. This shocking message presents Seg-El with a unique conundrum: "save his home planet or let it be destroyed in order to restore the fate of his future grandson."

Per Goyer and Johns, Adam won't be the only non-Kryptonian hero to appear on the show "eventually," which suggests these characters are not included in the premiere season as yet. Both the Green Lantern Corps and Omega Men are space-based properties, though they do occasionally include human characters like Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner.
