Superman isn't the only DC superhero who will cast a long shadow on Syfy's Krypton. Adam Strange is coming, and he is bringing Kal-El's grandfather a message of hope and despair.

After several leaks and teasers, Syfy has released the first official trailer for its Superman-inspired television series. Not only does it tease the true scope of the ambitious series, it also includes our very first look at Shaun Sipos' take on Adam Strange.

As we can see, Adam Strange's TV look is a far cry from his comic book counterpart. Gone is the red and white space uniform, jetpack and pistol, replaced instead by modern day clothes, complete with a Detroit Tigers baseball cap.

Talking with Superman's grandfather Seg-El, Adam arrives from the future with a warning. A familiar red cape firmly in his grasp, Adam informs Seg-El of Krypton's impending destruction, two generations from now. This shocking message is the stepping stone to the series' story, which will explore Seg attempt to regain his family's honor while trying to save his entire planet from doom.

While Superman isn't slated to appear on the show, the involvement of superheroes from the future effectively means that all bets are off. Outside of his warning, we don't yet know what role Adam will fill on the series. Whether he will remain on Krypton or go back to his own timeline remains to be seen.
