Krypton: First Look At Classic Superman Villain Brainiac

Syfy has revealed the first look at British actor Blake Ritson in the role of Superman villain Brainiac on Syfy's Krypton.

Ritson was added to the cast of the DC Comics-based prequel series in November, where he will play the central villain.

"Yes, he traverses the universe in a gigantic skull ship, ripping cities out of planets, miniaturizing them and placing them on board. But he does so in the spirit of conservation," Ritson told USA Today. "In his mind, he's committed to the ultimate philanthropic act: saving all of creation. In many ways it's analogous to Noah plucking out two of every animal to ensure their survival, even while knowing that others must perish."

Along with a first look at the green-skinned alien, Syfy has also released a video describing the collector of worlds.

Developed by David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler, Krypton is set two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet. The drama follows the Man of Steel’s grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), whose encounter with Earthly time traveler Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) changes his life, and the course of history.

Debuting March 21 on Syfy, Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre and Ian McElhinney.
