DC Comics announced League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace, a new video game starring Superman's and Batman's four-legged companions.

The trailer, which debuted during DC FanDome 2021, highlights Krypto dashing through the skies of Metropolis, blasting a variety of killer robots. The super-powered canine eventually drops to the streets, darting in between cars while using his heat vision to shoot down more deadly drones. The highlighted gameplay suggests The Adventures of Krypto and Ace will play as an on-the-rails shooter, as players maneuver their character around the screen, aiming with a reticle. The name of the game implies that Ace the Bat-Hound will also be playable but his mechanics have yet to be revealed.

Eagle-eyed fans will recognize that the color scheme of the robots is green and purple, suggesting they may be associated with Lex Luthor. Whether Superman's nemesis will serve as the game's main villain is currently unknown. The brief teaser also contains a fun nod to Batman villain Two-Face, who's seemingly opened an ice-cream shop.

While it's currently unconfirmed, it's possible that The Adventures of Krypto and Ace will serve as a tie-in game with the upcoming animated movie DC's League of Super-Pets. The movie will star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Krypto the Superdog, Kevin Heart as Ace the Bat-Hound and Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna and Keanu Reeves in a variety of undisclosed roles.

Little is known about the DC's League of Super-Pets movie beyond the cast. Speaking to the project, Hiram Garcia, president of Seven Bucks Productions, said, "As a Superman fan and a huge dog lover, having the ability to tell the story of Krypto and Superman is a dream come true! It's such a charming story, and then in addition we get to introduce the League of Super-Pets and all those wonderful characters. We have such an amazing cast of actors, and anytime you can get Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart together doing what they do, you know it's going to be a big, fun ride for audiences."

Developed as a collaboration between Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Outright Games, League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace launches in spring 2022 for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
