Following a panel appearance at last weekend's 2016 TCA press event, "Flash" Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that while Gorilla Grodd most likely won't reappear in Season 2, he'll be back in Season 3, most likely for a multi-episode arc.

"I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra's al Ghul. You know, you hear about 'the man from Nanda part' in '[Arrow'] Season 1, and 'the man who showed Malcolm the way,'" Kreisberg told Collider. "And then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra's. So, it's a long-term thing."

Grodd debuted during "The Flash's" first season, though the telepathic gorilla's initial television depiction differed significantly from his comic book counterpart. In Season 2, the villain returned, and hewed more closely to his hyper-intelligent incarnation, having evolved considerably since viewers last saw him. By the end of the episode, Grodd was introduced to another classic DC Comics mainstay, Gorilla City, when he was teleported to earth 2 courtesy of that reality's Harrison Wells.

"The Flash" returns from its mid-season break Tuesday, January 17, at 8 PM on the CW.
