Anime features several characters that are not of Japanese descent. Throughout the years, there has been a plethora of Chinese and Indian characters. There are few published works that feature characters that are of Korean descent. Due to historical reasons, anime has veered away from featuring Korean characters. However, that does not mean there are no Korean characters in anime. There are some works that feature characters from Korea, or are of Korean descent. Though rare, they do exist.

Suna Lee is a self-described "sociopath," who has trouble socializing and understanding people's emotions. She is also a disturbed character with intense bloodlust. As a Pandora, she believes she must be an emotionless killing machine. She is cold and manipulative but is loyal to those who accept and understand her.

However, when he is not skating, he zones out and is quite the airhead. Despite his adoring female fans, Seung Gil is stoic and cold towards them. He is extremely intelligent, analyzing other skaters and choreographing his performances to demonstrate his skills. He only shows emotions when he fails to advance to the Grand Prix finals.

He is a scientific genius who is known for causing chaos and spreading rumors online. His main goal is to see the Sibyl System dismantled, and has spent years researching how to do so. He shows little remorse for the people he hurts, as he sees it as a means to his goals.

In Hikaru No Go, he is depicted as overconfident and proud. He appears to not care about anything besides his own Go. He is an exceptionally strong player and is determined to become a Pro. When he loses to the main character, Hikaru Shindo, he shows him respect.

6 Ko Young Ha Is Korea's Big Hope

Ko Young Ha is a professional Go player who represents South Korea in the Hokuto Cup in Hikaru No Go. He is friends with Hong Suyoung, despite being years older than him. He is mischievous and childish, which sparks tension between Team Japan and Team Korea.

He enjoys provoking others and amuses himself with others' rage. Despite that, he is often well-composed and calm. He has a deep understanding of people's emotions. Though he is proud and overconfident, he appears to be courteous. In his homeland, Ko Young Ha is considered their "Big Hope" in the Go World.

Though Miyon Yi lives in Japan with her mother, she is actually from Korea and is of Korean descent. She is Himeka Kujyou's best friend. Miyon is always happy and cheerful and tends to see the bright side of things.

In Kamichama Karin, Miyon has a crush on Sakurai Yuuki and hopes that he would get into music school. Though Miyon herself is also fond of music, she prefers to write dramatic plays. Many consider her hobbies unusual, except for Karasuma Kirio, who admires her work.

4 Yumi Kim Is Proud To Be Korean

Yumi Kim is an instructor and physics teacher at West Genetics in Freezing. She was born in South Korea and is a former member of Numbers. On top of being a teacher, she is also Captain in the Chevalier. Yumi is proud, dedicated, and strong-minded.

She is blunt and honest about her feelings, which often gets her in trouble. She is extremely proud of her Korean heritage and is very close with other Koreans in the series, such as Baek Mi Ryung and Lee Su Na, during her student years. The three friends often supported each other during their time as students.

3 An Si Eun Is A Kind Guild Sub-Leader

An Si Eun is a half-Korean, half-Japanese character from Sword Art Online. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which led her to dive into virtual worlds to improve her quality of life. Si Eun is kind, but also sensitive and emotional.

She is the sub-leader of Sleeping Knights, a guild comprised of terminally ill patients who met in the Serene Garden. They play virtual reality games together as a form of palliative care. The guild, however, disbanded after some members died and others only had a few months left to live. Si Eun recovered from her illness.

2 Kim Youngbi Is Boxing's Human-Computer

Kim Youngbi is a Korean boxer in Tomorrow's Joe. He was orphaned during the Korean War and taken in by Colonel Jodal Hyun who ultimately became his boxing manager and trainer. Kim Youngbi started training in high school. In the ring, Youngbi has a cool and conservative approach.

He does not push himself to get a knockout early and calculates all of his punches. He prefers letting his opponents tire themselves out before going all out. Due to how he analyzes and observes his opponents, he earned the nickname "The Human Computer." Youngbi is extremely confident and fights with stone-cold precision.

Kim Songyu, also known as Kim Seong, is a Korean character in Bakuman. He is a supporting character in the series, and there is very little information on his background. He shares the same name as the lead singer in the South Korean group INFINITE.

Kim Songyu is an editor for Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. He has blue-grey hair, grey eyes, and a slender build. In Bakuman, he is an editor for One Piece. However, in real life, he is an editor for Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn.
