From the second Megumin is introduced in Konosuba, viewers know that things aren't going to go perfectly. While Megumin is arguably the kindest member of the party and values the lives of those around her, she is a recipe for chaos. Megumin often finds herself annoying, blowing up objects, or simply failing to be a useful adventure. She constantly has delusions in the middle of life or death battles and doesn't have a problem angering enemies. Megumin has caused a lot of trouble for the main cast. Below are ten ways that Megumin made everything worse for Kazuma and friends.
10 Getting Eaten By Frogs
In the very first episode that she was introduced, she joins Kazuma and Aqua in a quest to slay giant frogs. What they don't know, however, is that once Megumin uses her magic, she is completely useless in battle. This, of course, leads to her and Aqua both being consumed by the monsters.
The only reason the girls even survived was thanks to Kazuma's hard work; it's surprising he could kill the two frogs quick enough, though.
9 Forcing Kazuma To Take Her in
Once Kazuma had successfully saved the girls from being amphibian food, he had to carry Megumin back to town on his back. While this act was kind, Megumin showed no mercy to him when she learned he didn't want to keep her in the party.
Megumin decided the best way to force her way into the party was to excuse Kazuma of scandalous acts as they walked through the middle of town.
8 Bombarding a Demon Castle
Megumin demands to use her explosion magic once a day and forced Kazuma to go with her. The two came upon a castle that happened to be owned by a member of the demon king's army and started to bombarded it with magic every single day. Soon enough, the demon paid a visit to town to threaten her.
Instead of giving up her attack, though, she snuck off with Aqua to continue her magical assault.
7 Steals Experience Points
A less well-known fact about Megumin is that she is the highest level member of the party. While this should be a good thing, of course, it's just Megumin outsmarting the rest of the party. Megumin is said to wait until she can get the last shot on enemies in order to earn the most experience.
This is why the rest of the party isn't able to level with her equally.
6 Lying to Her Parents
Megumin went a little overboard in the letters she would send home to her parents. The letters made her seem a lot more heroic than she was and even led her parents to believe she was in a relationship with Kazuma, who was supposedly really rich at the time.
This led to Kazuma being locked in a room with Megumin by her parents.
5 Ruining Kazuma and Aqua's Peace
Later in the show, Kazuma and Aqua have managed to carve out a comfortable living and have pretty much given up on the demon king. The two are more than happy just to lounge around without trying to fight any more enemies or take on the smallest of quests.
Megumin couldn't stand this, though, as she loves using her explosion magic.
4 Claiming She's With Kazuma
Not only has she tried to get her parents to believe she was in a relationship, but Megumin often alludes to being with Kazuma for her on benefit. Kazuma is often annoyed by this, and it causes a variety of different types of trouble across the series.
Megumin is extremely intelligent, and this is one of the ways that she uses it to manipulate those around her.
3 Dragging Kazuma to The Bathroom
When tasked with guarding a haunted mansion, Megumin confronts Kazuma in the middle of the night because she doesn't want to go to the bathroom alone. Of course, this drags them right into the crossfire of the spirit that is floating around the house much to Kazuma's dismay.
It would have made much more sense if Megumin would have simply stayed with Aqua, who can purify evil spirits.
2 Chunchunmaru
Kazuma is extremely excited to get a special sword of his own. As is tradition, he was tasked with giving the sword a name. Megumin decided to steal the moment by announcing that the sword would be called Chunchunmaru. Before Kazuma could even try to stop her, the sword was embedded with the name.
Megumin likely knew this would happen and quickly took the opportunity away from Kazuma.
1 Refusing to Destroy a Golem
When the group was in danger, Kazuma asked Megumin to use her explosion magic to destroy an enemy golem. Instead of going along with the order and helping her friends, she told him she wouldn't do it. She announced that she wanted to take the golem home and keep it as a pet.
Megumin tends to wait to solve situations that she could have immediately ended on her own.
