Before joining Kazuma's party, Aqua was a goddess who led people to the afterlife where she offered for them to be reborn into an alternate world, or finally rest. After being tricked by Kazuma Satou, Aqua was forced to see out this adventure with him.

On the party, Aqua plays the role of an expert Arch Priest whose skills are way beyond the level of an amateur. Funnily enough, she's often referred to as 'useless' and 'deadweight' by Kazuma throughout their journey as she needlessly stirs up trouble for him.

9 Most Beautiful

Being a goddess, Aqua is considered to be one of the most beautiful characters in the entire KonoSuba series. According to Kazuma, her beauty transcends everything that he's ever seen and cannot be compared to mere humans.

This is further emphasized throughout their adventure as she often receives compliments on her beauty. Despite this, Kazuma isn't afraid to call her out when she welcomes trouble, which is most of the time. Over time, Kazuma's attraction towards Aqua has turned into frustration, although most of it is for comedic relief.

8 Her Personality

Throughout KonoSuba, Aqua's biggest nuance is her erratic personality. She's often seen as carefree, and cheerful. However, she doesn't seem to care about the consequences of her actions, which are catastrophic, more often than not.

As a result of her actions, she is often seen crying to Kazuma for help, which frustrates him even more than usual. She is considered to be the least smart person in the entire party by Kazuma and is usually the first suspect when something strange happens. Over time, she has developed a reputation for inviting trouble to the party.

7 Her Lies

Aqua is a goddess, which means that her actions are intended to do good, even if they somehow end up creating trouble for the party. Interestingly enough, Aqua, being a goddess, is not capable of lying either, which makes it easy for the party to get the truth out of her.

Even if she tries to lie, she gives away the truth most of the time. In fact, her lies are caught simply by people pinching her cheeks, upon which she spits it out immediately. As such, Aqua is the most honest member of the party, which is the complete opposite of Kazuma.

6 Her Knowledge

Aqua has developed the reputation of being one of the stupidest characters in KonoSuba. Although her actions do make her look like she's dumb, in truth, she's anything but that. Aqua is likely the smartest person in the party, although according to Kazuma, that title goes to Megumin (probably after him).

Aqua possesses incredible knowledge and has a keen eye. However, she's bad at analyzing the situation and using her skills when the going gets tough. Despite having the skills to deal with most of the problems, her inability to put her powers to use is what leads to her being termed useless.

5 Her Cowardice

Aqua may be Goddess, but she has her fears which goes to show that even Gods have weaknesses, especially when they exist in a parody isekai anime. Aqua has had a horrible time dealing with the giant toads and the alligators of the world of KonoSuba.

Over time, she's been sick of trying to deal with them, yet failing every time. This has led to Aqua turning into a coward when it comes to fighting strong monsters. When the party is in a predicament, Aqua usually feigns important work elsewhere or a sickness that has consumed her.

4 Her Relationship With The Undead

As a Goddess, Aqua hates the very existence of the undead and the demons. Therefore, when encountering one of them in the world of KonoSuba, she turns into a frightening monster who purifies them at any cost. This side of her makes her seem like the most powerful member of Kazuma's party.

Despite Wiz being an ally of the party, Aqua gives her a cold shoulder as well, although she does tolerate her presence, implying that she's capable of getting along with the undead as well. Funnily enough, Aqua purifying the undead has also invited over trouble, such as when the party went to deal with Vanir.

3 Her Mana Pool

Aqua's power is directly derived from the love and the devotion of those who worship her. Due to the Axis Cult being a bunch of fanatics, Aqua is blessed with an exceptionally huge pool of Mana. She rarely ever runs out of mana, while other members of the party, such as Megumin run out of it after just one explosion.

Since Megumin's powers are more threatening to the enemies, Aqua is often used to supply Mana to Megumin via Kazuma's drain touch. While not the most useful strategy, it works most of the time and helps the party deal with whatever threat stands in front of them.

2 Aqua's Stats

Aqua formerly served as a Goddess before being dragged to the world of KonoSuba along with Kazuma Satou. Since she was a Divine entity, all of Aqua's stats are set to maximum right from the beginning of the journey, as explained by Aqua herself.

Consequently, Aqua can spend a ton of her points on Skills and Spells. Despite this, she cannot improve her already low intelligence and her bad luck, which nerfs her severely through most of the journey.

1 Her Name

Aqua from KonoSuba

Much like every other character, Aqua's name has a meaning behind it. In Latin, Aqua literally means water, which is the reason behind her being a goddess of water. Furthermore, Aqua also has a hairpiece designed like a water molecule, further enhancing her status as a goddess of water.

This is a theme with almost every member of the Kazuma's party, such as Megumin's name meaning 'Blessing', which is a pun on the title of the show itself. Incredibly, this goes to show that despite KonoSuba being a parody isekai anime, the author's written a marvelous story which is a masterpiece in its own right.
