Written by Tadashi Agi, a pseudonym for the sibling writer duo Yuko and Shin Kibayashi who also wrote the popular sports manga The Knight in the Area, and illustrated by Shu Okimoto, The Drops of God has become a cult hit, selling over half a million copies and even inspiring a 23-volume sequel manga. The Drops of God was also adapted as a live-action TV series in 2009. The manga's popularity has even affected the international sales of the real wines featured in the series.

The story follows bartender Shizuku Kanzaki whose father, an estranged and famous wine critic, leaves behind an unusual will. Whoever can find and correctly identify the "Twelve Apostles" and the "Drops of God", the 13 wines Shizuku's father describes in his will, will inherit the father's wealth and vast wine collection. Competing against Shizuku is his adopted brother, Issey Tomine, who works as a sommelier. Despite his lack of experience with wine, Shizuku must use his innate and uncanny sense of smell and taste to complete the task set in his father's will and defeat his brother.

comiXology Unlimited boasts a catalog of over 25,000 digital comics, graphic novels and manga and recently even added the best-selling cultural phenomenon Attack on Titan to that growing list. Furthermore, the publisher's Originals include such hit manga as Initial D, the shonen classic Shaman King and Beck. A monthly subscription costs $5.99 USD.
