The third Knives Out movie is moving forward, and Daniel Craig will return as Benoit Blanc to get to the bottom of another mystery. Following the reveal of the sequel's title, names are emerging from the rumor mill as a part of the cast.
This week, it was announced that the Netflix sequel would be titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. In the first two films, Craig was joined by star-studded ensemble casts, and it's looking like that tradition will continue. A new report from What's On Netflix states that Lindsay Lohan (Freaky Friday), Tom Hardy (Venom), Cailee Spaeny (Civil War), and Josh O'Connor (The Crown) are all currently in talks to join the ensemble cast, though it's worth noting that none have been officially confirmed at this time.

Knives Out
As far as mystery movies go, Knives Out doesn’t necessarily present any groundbreaking material. However, the pieces of the movie come together so well that the finished product is a remarkable achievement and one of the best mystery movies available. For starters, each actor clearly gives their best. From the Southern-accented Daniel Craig, who delivers an excellent performance as Detective Benoit Blanc to Chris Evan’s more villainous role, the acting is truly compelling. Every line of cleverly written dialogue is delivered with integrity and amazing execution, with seemingly no snags anywhere to be found. The story itself centers around a wealthy family whose patriarch dies unexpectedly. Come to find out, it was no accident at all, which is where Detective Blanc comes into play. And Daniel Craig’s witty performance really sells the character, who is bound and determined to get to the end of the mystery behind the death of family patriarch Harlan Thrombey, portrayed excellently by the late Christopher Plummer. It’s no surprise that Knives Out nails the execution on all fronts, as it was penned and directed by none other than Rian Johnson, who previously directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Looper, as well as some of Breaking Bad’s most beloved episodes, including “Ozymandias.” Thus, Knives Out is evidently a byproduct of his experience in film and television. Knives Out is an excellent mystery movie—almost a necessity for the uninitiated. Digestible and approachable by all age groups, it deserves to be in every cinephile’s catalog.
