Kingdom Hearts is one of the best RPG series ever made. Throughout many of the games, players control Sora, a keyblade wielder from Destiny Islands. Throughout his journey, he had to fight against many enemies, such as the heartless and nobodies, as well as the main antagonists of the franchise, Organization XIII— not to mention iconic villains from Disney and Final Fantasy.

Whether it be due to the impact they have in the story or due to how fun it was to fight in them, many of Sora's battles are legendary to say the least.

Spoiler Warning: This list may contain spoilers for various games in the Kingdom Hearts series.

10 Sora Fought Sephiroth At Radiant Garden

Sephiroth KH2

Sephiroth is one of Final Fantasy's greatest antagonists, and he has appeared in a couple Kingdom Hearts games as well. While the battle against him in the first installment was great, he is more fun to fight in Kingdom Hearts II.

Interested in seeing if he could obtain the keyblade by defeating Sora, Sephiroth fought him in Radiant Garden. After beating him, Cloud and Tifa also fought the One Winged Angel, and players obtained the Fenrir keychain.

9 Sora Defeated Marluxia In Castle Oblivion

Marluxia

Marluxia was the main antagonist of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. After tricking Sora, Donald, and Goofy into going inside Castle Oblivion, he took away their memories, with the help of Namine and some other members of Organization XIII.

As players made their way up to the 13th floor, they defeated Marluxia's comrades, with him being the final boss in Sora's campaign. Upon doing so, Sora and his friends were saved, and Namine was able to start bringing Sora's memories back, though it would take a long time.

8 Sora, Donald, And Goofy Attacked Master Xehanort

Master Xehanort was responsible for a lot of the terrible things that Sora and his friends faced throughout their adventures. At the end of Kingdom Hearts III, Sora, Donald, and Goofy fought him in Scala ad Caelum. Though they were able to beat him, Xehanort still had a chance of fulfilling his goal of resetting the world and defending Kingdom Hearts' light.

However, he was able to realize that Sora and his friends could defend the light instead and handed the X-Blade over to Sora, bringing an end to the battle between the Guardians of Light and Seekers of Darkness.

7 Sora, Donald, And Goofy Fought The Lingering Will

Lingering Will in Kingdom Hearts II

One of the most challenging boss battles in the series was Kingdom Hearts II's Lingering Will. When Sora, Donald, and Goofy went to the Keyblade Graveyard, the Lingering Will spoke to Sora and fought him. Though Sora, and the players, didn't really understand what was going on at the time, this was one of the most difficult enemies he ever fought and he proved how strong he was by beating him.

After the release of other games in the series, especially Birth by Sleep, fans understood that the Lingering Will was Terra, who had met Sora and Riku when they were children. He passed the power of the keyblade down to Riku, and years later, tested Sora's strength.

6 Sora Had To Fight Thousands Of Enemies At The Keyblade Graveyard

Sora, Donald, and Goofy fight thousands of enemies

Before the fight between the Guardians of Light and Seekers of Darkness, Sora and his friends had to fight hundreds of heartless, nobodies, and unversed. After defeating the first group of them, Terranort and a Demon Tide attacked, nearly killing the Guardians of Light. Luckily, Sora was able to save all of his friends and go back in time.

When Terranort attacked this time, the Lingering Will fought him, while Sora, Donald, and Goofy attacked the Demon Tide. However, no matter what they did, the Demon Tide kept getting more powerful, absorbing more heartless to attack with. In order to stop it, Sora needed the help of the keyblade wielders from the Age of Fairytales, making it so some Union X players were able to save the day.

5 Sora Defeated Ansem The Seeker Of Darkness And Saved All Of The Worlds

Ansem, Seeker of Darkness Holding Out Hand

At the end of the first game, Sora, Donald, and Goofy fought Ansem, who had done everything that he could in order to defeat them, from possessing Riku to using his monsters to attack. However, Sora and his friends were able to overcome everything he threw at them. As a last resort to win, Ansem tried to use a Kingdom Hearts, the Door to Darkness, which he thought had darkness inside of it.

However, Sora knew that light was what was on the other side of the door, which was used to defeat Ansem. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Riku, and King Mickey were then able to help each other close the door and bring all the worlds back to how they were before they were taken by the darkness.

4 Sora & Riku Teamed Up To Defeat Xemnas

Sora and Riku Fighting Final Form Xemnas

Similar to the first game, the final boss battle of Kingdom Hearts II was very long and had a lot of waves. This time around, Sora and Riku worked together to defeat Xemnas, who could throw skyscrapers at them, use a dragon to fight, and more. When the last thing he could do was fight himself, Xemnas attacked his enemies with a bunch of lasers, which Sora and Riku were able to avoid.

After they did, Xemnas tried to attack Sora, but Riku saved him and got hurt. Sora then used both his and Riku's keyblades to fight Xemnas on his own, before working with Riku one last time in the fight to shoot a beam of light at Xemnas. They finally defeated the leader of Organization XIII and returned home.

3 Sora Fought Yozora In Shibuya

Yozora

One of the most mysterious characters in the series right now is Yozora, who met Sora at the end of Kingdom Hearts III's ReMind DLC. The two of them encountered each other in a darkened version of The Final World, before fighting in Shibuya. Many fans consider this to be the toughest boss battle in the entire series.

Depending on if they win or lose, Yozora will either back down from the fight, stating that his powers aren't needed yet, or he will crystalize Sora while vowing to save him. Fans can't wait to see what happens with him yet and what his connection to Sora is.

2 Sora Had To Fight His Own Nobody, Roxas

Roxas vs Sora

Sora's best conflict is arguably with his own nobody as they weren't able to live their own lives at the same time for so long. When they finally met, Sora and Roxas fought against each other in Kingdom Hearts II.

Roxas nearly won the battle as he stopped Sora from using his keyblade, but once he was able to get it back, Sora defeated him. However, once Sora learned who Roxas was and understood that he deserved to have his own life, he did everything he could in order to save Roxas.

1 Sora, Riku, And Mickey Fought Against Ansem, Xemnas, And Young Xehanort One Last Time

Ansem, Young Xehanort, and Xemnas

Xemnas, Ansem, and Xehanort have all fought Sora throughout the series. However, towards the end of Kingdom Hearts III, they worked together to fight against him, as well as Riku and King Mickey. This was the last time that Sora saw both Ansem and Xemnas, serving as a great conclusion to their character arcs.

Xehanort, on the other hand, believed that his older self would beat Sora shortly after and accepted his defeat, thinking that he would get his revenge one day. Sora and his friends proved to be stronger than their greatest enemies in one epic battle.
