A trailer for a new game set in the Kingdom Hearts universe has been released.
The new game, Melody of Memory, will feature rhythm elements as players travel throughout several locations from previous Kingdom Hearts games. The footage features Sora, Donald and Goofy running alongside a track shaped like a sheet of music and fighting the Heartless and other beasts. Players can also utilize the Gummi Ship to travel to other locations, while characters from Disney films arrive to lend the player strength.
However, the biggest reveal comes toward the end, as Kairi confronts a mysterious hooded figure, whom she blames for "altering her destiny" and hurting Sora. Kairi then summons her Keyblade and charges at the figure, saying whether it's a memory or illusion, she will never forgive them.
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is part of an initiative called "Kingdom Hearts series 2nd Phase," which will also feature Kingdom Hearts 3: Re:Mind and the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. The action is not limited to games, though, as an animated series is reportedly in development at Disney+.
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory will be available for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
