In light of California's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Disney and Square Enix have confirmed the release date for Kingdom Hearts III: January 29, 2019.

In a post to Twitter the official Kingdom Hearts account announced the release date, along with debuting a short 10-second teaser. "KINGDOM HEARTS III will be releasing on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on January 29, 2019! #KingdomHearts #KH3," the post reads.

During Disney’s video game presentation at 2015's D23 Expo, Kingdom Hearts III producer Shinji Hashimoto announced that Square Enix’s highly anticipated role-playing game will feature a world inspired by the movie Big Hero 6. And, of course, the franchise will continue to feature Disney fan-favorites like Donald Duck and Goofy.

In related Disney gaming news, E3 brought with it the announcement of a new Star Wars game set between Episodes III and IV, in addition to Clone Wars DLC for Star Wars Battlefront II.

Releasing on Xbox One and Playstation 4, Kingdom Hearts III hits shelves on January 29, 2019.
