Though Jason Aaron's final Thor story kicks off in August, he's not done with Marvel's Thunder God just yet. In September, Aaron and artist Esad Ribic join forces once more for King Thor, a four-issue story millennia in the making.

In King Thor, not only do the pair revisit the future for another tale starring the Marvel Universe's one-eyed God of Thunder, they're telling the story of Thor and his brother Loki's final battle.

Making matters more difficult is the fact that when King Thor and Loki clash, the Asgardian trickster god has a new weapon in his already formidable arsenal: the Necrosword. And, as longtime readers of Aaron's epic run know, the Necrosword is uniquely powerful, and deadly even to Marvel's immortal gods. Though King Thor appears to have allies to help him; judging by Ribic's cover for the first issue, his granddaughters, Frigg, Atli and Ellisiv, will be by his side as he faces his evil sibling for the final time.

Below, CBR has the exclusive first look at Ribic's epic cover for King Thor #1 along with the full solicitation copy for the issue. Plus, we have the debut of Gerardo Zaffino's variant cover for the four-part miniseries' first issue.
