WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Venom #33 by Donny Cates, Iban Coello, Jesus Aburtov, and VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

Things aren't going particularly well for Eddie Brock. The dark god of the symbiotes and creator of his other half has arrived on Earth, and it only took moments for Knull to take over almost completely, even going so far as to black out the skies across the globe with his living darkness. On top of that, Knull killed Eddie, and now all that is left of Eddie Brock exists as part of the Codex within the symbiote Hive.

The good news is that even in death Eddie has the will to fight and friends to help him along the way. The bad news is that they're all about to walk straight into a Hell worse than anything they've ever seen in Venom #33.

On the inside of the Hive, Eddie has been reunited with Rex Strickland and Flash Thompson, and he couldn't be happier to see friendly faces willing to fight even though like him their physical bodies are dead. Even in death, Eddie is still connected to Knull directly, and can sense what's happening back on Earth. He knows the fight isn't going well, and from their positions in the Hive he and his allies can see the heroes who have become part of the King in Black's army.

Eddie's connection to Knull also lets him know when the dark god is wounded, and he feels it when Dylan burns away the symbiotes that are bonded to the Avengers and X-Men on the outside. As the formerly Knullified heroes leave the Hive, a bright red wound forms that doubles as a portal to another area of the Hive. Eddie equates where he and his allies are to purgatory, and he's pretty sure that this new doorway doesn't lead to anywhere resembling heaven.

On the other side of the tear, Eddie, Rex, and Flash discover a world not unlike what someone would imagine Hell to be, though somehow worse than that. They're no longer just inside the Hive, they're in the central nervous system of it, where every symbiote in the universe is connected at their roots.

The landscape is broken and smoldering, and hordes of symbiotes meander about on the ground below, all watched over by the vicious eyes of Knull's dragons. Standing at the absolute center of the Hive is overwhelming for the heroes, but the sight of symbiotes being kept in cages is truly shocking. The ones in isolation are those that have been cut off from the rest of the Hive, their connection having been severed by Dylan freeing them with his powers out in the real world.

This is without a doubt the deepest anyone has ever been in the Hive, save for Knull himself. There are no hosts in the God Hive, only the beings made of pure living darkness, serving their progenitor's will to keep those who have been cut off far away.

While Knull's presence is felt throughout all of the symbiotes connected to him, this new nightmare realm that Eddie has stumbled into is likely the only good place from which to launch an attack that the dark god will really feel. Knowing Eddie Brock, that's exactly what he's planning to do next.
