WARNING: The following contains spoilers for King in Black #2 by Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, Frank Martin, and VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

Eddie Brock is dead, and Knull has wrapped the entire planet in a symbiotic blanket. Dragons fill the sky and the Earth's remaining heroes are hiding underground and scrounging for resources in an effort to do whatever they can to get back into the fight. As usual, Tony Stark is leading the way with his bleeding-edge genius, but his plan to heal Eddie with a symbiote injected with Extremis failed. However, his plans to recruit the Black Tide and Dracula's forces are still in the works thanks to the efforts of Namor and Blade.

Using the same "the enemy of my enemy is my friend logic" the remaining X-Men could reach out to James Hudson Jr.-- Wolverine's son from the Ultimate Universe and the last member of the Poison Hive seen alive after the events of Venomized.  The Poison Hive is a race of sentient aliens that are known as symbiote killers and they've gone to war with the likes of Venom, Carnage, and many of Marvel's heroes when they invaded Earth during the Venomverse trilogy by Cullen Bunn, Iban Coello, Kevin Libranda and Matt Yackey.

Even though they haven't appeared in a while, the Poison Hive could be vital in stopping Knull and his dark army.

The Poisons have evolved to be a Klyntar symbiote's perfect host. This means when they bond with a symbiote they unlock its true potential. However, the bonding process consumes the symbiote's original host and uses the nutrients to secure the Klyntar and Poison's connection. Once the transformation is complete, they become part of the Poison Hive mind with little of their personality left intact. The Poison does retain all of the abilities and special powers associated with the host and the symbiote consumed.

Venom encountered the Poisons for the first time in the Venomverse. The Poisons were in a war against a number of Venomized heroes such as Deadpool, Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Dr. Strange. Venom was also teleported by Strange to take place in the conflict. Venomverse ended with Venom being teleported back to the Marvel Universe, unknowingly accompanied by the  Poison Thanos and the rest of his army. This is where Venomized kicks off, with the Poison Hive showing up to invade Earth. Marvel Girl manages to kill the Poison Queen and nearly all of the Poisons with a powerful psionic blast. Jimmy Hudson was one of the few that survived the blast and started referring to himself as Poison because he may be the last of his kind.

It's entirely possible that Poison could show up before the King In Black ends. The Poison Hive are powerful warriors that caused a lot of mayhem before they were destroyed. They're faster and stronger than most of the symbiotes, and Poison Wolverine could probably take on an entire company of dragons all by himself. His healing factor and ferocity would make him a much-needed ally. But as powerful as Poison Wolverine is, even his presence seems meager in the face of Knull's forces.

But if anyone can maximize his use, it's Tony Stark who is always pulling crazy plans out of his sleeve. While his plan to resurrect Brock didn't work, the Avenger's resident genius is sure to have more ideas mulling around in his brain. He already asked Blade and Namor to recruit their fiercest enemies into the fight, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he asked the X-Men to reach out to their old teammate, too.
