Knull Kaiju

Black Knight wields the Ebony Blade, a sword revealed to be linked to Knull's powers, accounting for its seemingly magical ability to corrupt all those who come into direct contact with it, Black Knight dives headfirst into King in Black seeking to drive back the invading symbiote army. Battling a symbiote dragon in the sky, Dane crashes back down to Earth only to find himself in the Chinese city Shanghai. Like the rest of the Marvel Universe, Shanghai is also under siege from Knull's symbiotes, but its not without superheroes of its own to repel the ongoing invasion. As Black Knight regains his bearings in East Asia and the apocalypse continues to rain down around him, the Avenger finds himself in an impromptu team-up with Sword Master and Aero.

Finding his Ebony Blade accidentally bonded to Sword Master's weapon, Black Knight realizes that the other mystical armament shares the same apparent cosmic origin as the Ebony Blade. This similarity is noticed by more than just the Black Knight, with Knull himself contacting Dane telepathically after discovering the two swords in Shanghai possess the power to potentially reshape the entire world. Probing Dane's mind further, Knull learns more about the Ebony Blade and is determined to gain it and Sword Master's weapon for himself. Observing the local culture, Knull takes on the form of a kaiju-sized demon by having his symbiote dragons throughout the city merge into a single, demonic behemoth.

Black Knight King in Black

As Sword Master reclaims his weapon from Dane, he and his Agents of Atlas teammate Aero keep the monstrous, towering Knull across the Shanghai cityscape, the Black Knight reunites with the Ebony Blade. Accepting the fate of his lineage and his connection to the mythical sword, Dane transforms into an armored, powered up form of the Black Knight and manages to turn Knull's darkness against himself by mastering the Ebony Blade's potential. Frustrated and unable to defeat the assembled heroes even in his upgraded form, Knull decides to turn his attention back to New York City as he continues the hunt for Dylan Brock.

Black Knight and the two Agents of Atlas desperate defense of Shanghai scored a much-needed victory for the superhero community against Knull, driving the dark god and his symbiote army out of a major city for now. While Knull's desire for both Black Knight and Sword Master's blades is apparent, the two heroes are headed to New York City to join with the other heroes to defeat the dark god once and for all. And if the mythical weapons can stay out of Knull's grasp and the two swordsmen may very well be able to put Knull on the defensive.
