WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 3, Episode 7 of Killing Eve, "Beautiful Monster."

Killing Eve's third season has toyed a lot with Villanelle's (Jodie Comer) emotions, going so far as to gift her a fake promotion to keep her in line. She wanted to transition into a Keeper but as much as she thought she had agency and upper-echelon powers, she's still a lackey meant to perform political hits. Unfortunately, it has broken her mentally, especially after she killed her family back home in Russia out of frustration.

Now, following a botched hit, "Beautiful Monster" has confirmed the Twelve has officially deemed her expendable with a successor in Rhian (Alexandra Roach) introduced to the mix. And the competition is real because Rhian is more effective and deadlier which means Villanelle could be on her way out.

After the disaster in Romania, Hélène (Camille Cottin) has a meeting with a wounded Villanelle to let her know the Twelve still cares for her. However, they're assigning the raven-haired, stone-cold Rhian to the jobs Villanelle had slated. It's a weird exchange with Hélène actually coddling Villanelle like a baby, but as per Villanelle's disturbed mentality, she's turned on and finds it sexy.

However, as more responsibility is delegated to Rhian, she senses her time could be up soon. It basically confirms Hélène lied to her after telling her she had her back and would ensure she became a Keeper. Hélène has clearly played her for a fool and as fans know, Villanelle is nobody's pawn in this game of assassins. It gets even more dangerous Hélène responds in kind to threats made at the start of the meeting, as she indicates she's having none of it. She offers a stern warning as she and Rhian depart the room, leaving a lasting impression on Villanelle.

Hélène indicates that before Villanelle could even attempt to murder her, Hélène would put her down. It's an intimidating moment and it's easy to tell that Hélène is just as much a killer, except that she can play the mind game way better. It could be she came up the same way Villanelle did, from the field to a Keeper, and this leaves a bit of apprehension in Villanelle as she does sense the killer instinct. She smiles at the challenge, though, so viewers can look forward to a future showdown with Hélène. But as the episode winds down, it may be that Rhian and Villanelle will be the fight to watch out for.

It's because Rhian, a woman of no words, has been tailing Mo (Raj Bajaj), the MI6 agent who's secretly helping Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) dig up dirt on her son's murder. When Mo calls her to let her know he found a connection between Kenny and Carolyn's MI6 boss and agent of the Twelve, Paul, as he walks through a park, an umbrella closes revealing Rhian in the evening on a bench. She starts following him with a sly smile and as the episode concludes, he's seen in a creek in the park. His pale body's submerged in the dark of night, meaning it's a clean and quiet kill done off-screen.

It fits Hélène's confidence in Rhian and throws Carolyn's plan into disarray as the Twelve are doing their part to stay hidden. They don't want prying eyes from Kenny's death onto them, which means Paul and Hélène are actually winning right now. Carolyn would need an equalizer and seeing as Villanelle has refused work from her before, now might be a good time to switch sides.

Starring Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, Harriet Walter, Danny Sapani, Gemma Whelan and Steve Pemberton, the third season of Killing Eve airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC and BBC America.
