"Legion's" Dan Stevens has gone from telepathic mutant to family man in the first teaser trailer for Saban Films' upcoming sci-fi action film “Kill Switch.” The film pits Stevens' character, pilot Will Porter, against a city gone mad in the aftermath of a failed experiment to supply the world with infinite energy.

The film looks to combine special effects with first-person camera perspectives, the likes of which have been seen recently in the action film “Hardcore Henry.” The trailer shows a mix of present TCH: day and future technology strewn across the battered city-scape, as well as a massive light emanating from an enormous machine that pierces the clouds. At one point, a hovering drone explodes and is instantly reassembled, perhaps hinting that the massive machine has caused fluctuations in time, reality or both.

Stevens plays David Haller, a mutant whose abilities are fractured into separate personalities by his schizophrenia, in the FX series “Legion.” The first season of the show saw David go toe-to-toe with a mysterious, ethereal presence bent on destroying his life. The second season is slated to debut in 2018 and run for 10 episodes.

Debuting in theaters on June 16, “Kill Switch” is directed by Tim Smit and stars Dan Stevens, Charity Wakefield, Berenice Marlohe, Tygo Gernandt and Gijs Scholten van Aschat.
