In Studio Trigger 's 2013 classic anime, Kill la Kill, Ryuko Matoi transfers to Honnouji Academy to seek out her father's killer. During her investigation of her father's lab, she comes across a living school uniform, a Kamui, named Senkestu. When Ryuko allows Senkestu to suck her blood, he transforms into a powerful set of armor.
After Ryuko gains the ire of Honnouji's student council president, Satsuki Kiryiun, through challenging her authority, Satsuki would reveal that she has a Kamui of her own called Junkestu. Despite Ryuko and Satsuki clashing several times during the series, it never provided a definite answer on which Kamui is the strongest.
10 Junkestu: It's Ruthless And Savage
One strength in Junkestu's favor is that it's the more ruthless Kamui. Unlike Senkestu, Junketsu has a very animalistic personality. It speaks only in growls and reacts violently to any human, except for its users, when not worn. Junkestu is so violent that it must be restrained when not worn by Satsuki.
Despite not having much of a personality, Junkestu is also vicious towards completing its goals. Unlike Senketsu, Junkestu is willing to be worn by any user to complete its creator's will. This is strength, as unlike Sentkestu, it retains its full power no matter who wears it. It was also very willing to manipulate its users to further its goals.
9 Senketsu: He's Intelligent and Loyal
Unlike Junkestu, Senkestu has human-level intelligence and the ability to communicate with his users. This gives Senkestu the benefit of being able to explain his abilities to Ryuko. This intelligence also gives allows him to form a rapport with his user, which allows them to figure out how best to utilize his ability and try to prevent the user from making dumb decisions.
Senkestu is not only intelligent but also loyal. This makes Senkestu a powerful Kamui in that he is willing to protect his users and aid them in their goal. This can be seen by the fact that despite being created from Life Fiber, he allies with humans as he sympathizes more with them than the Life Fibers.
8 Junketsu: It Can Bend Its User To Will
While Senkestu is loyal to its user, Junketsutu does not need to build up trust with its users. Junketsu uses illusionary powers to bend its user to its will. This is most apparent when Ryuko is forced by Ragyo Kiriyun to wear Junketsu. Junketsu used its ability to brainwash Ryuko to be loyal to Ragyo by placing Ryuko's mind in an illusionary world, where she had a normal childhood.
This illusionary ability is shown to a more powerful extent in the video game, Kill la Kill: If. In this game, Junketsu tries to convince Satsuki to submit to Ragyo by showing her illusions of a potential future timeline. While this effort did not succeed, it does show that Junkestu has the unique ability to place illusion over its user.
7 Senketsu: He's Mixed With Human DNA
Senkestu has some unique powers of his own, thanks to his unique origins. Unlike Junkestu, he is a Kamui infused with human DNA. This infusion gives him some unique powers like being able to move on his free will.
Another strength that Senkestu has due to his hybrid nature is that he can resist the Life Fibers' ability to control any item of clothing with Life Fibers stitched into them. This ability was particularly useful during the last battle against Ragyo when Ragyo's Kamui used its ability to control life fiber to take out most of the Ryuko's and Satsuki's allies.
6 Junketsu: It Doesn't Get Overwhelmed By Its User Emotional State
While Senkestu's human-like nature gives him many advantages, it does weaken him in another way. A weakness is that Senketsu can be overwhelmed by a user's emotional state. This problem occurred during Ryuko's first battle against Nui Harime when Ryuko was so consumed by vengeance against her that Senkestu transformed into a berserker mode.
Junketsu's beastly nature prevents it from being overwhelmed by a user's emotions. An example of this can be seen by the time it was being used by Ryuko. Despite Ryuko spending the last part of her battle against Satsuki fighting against Junkestu's brainwashing, the Kamui does not go berserk and retained its stability.
5 Senketsu: Can Adapt Himself To Adverse Situations
Senkestu's disadvantage of being shaped by a user's emotions is not always a weakness. In some cases, it can lead to Senkestu gaining a new form to overcome an adverse opponent. This is an ability that Junkestu lacks until it was infused with some of Senkestu's DNA before the heroes' final confrontation against Ragyo.
This adaptive ability is on full display during Ryuko's battles against Honnoji's Elite Four. In each fight, Senkestus transformed himself into different forms to overcome the Elite Four's unique four-star Goku uniforms. For example, Seknestu grows a bunch of spikes to overcome the strong defensive ability of Gamagori's uniform.
4 Junketsu: Easier To Unlock Its Full Potential
While Senkestu is a powerful Kamui, he has a noticeable fault in that its full power is not available to Ryuko at the start of the series. Senketsu needs to absorb strains of Life Fibers to unlock his full power. While overtime Senkestsu's power will grow as Ryuko defeats more uniform wielders, it is rather weak when first worn.
Junkestsu, unlike Senketsu, does not require strains of Life Fiber to boost its power. Junkestu appears to have its full power unlocked from the time Satsuki wore it. This fact was one of the factors that allow Satsuki to defeat Ryuko in their first confrontation.
3 Senketsu: He Can Survive Being Cut Into Pieces
One of Senketsu's strengths is being rather durable with him being able to survive being cut into multiple pieces by a Scissor Blade. While Senkestu pieces had to be sewn back together to regain its Kamui's ability, it is still the only uniform in the show to have survived being cut by a Scissor Blade.
This ability is demonstrated about halfway through the series when Nui Harime used her scissor blade to slice Senketsu into pieces. This leads to Ryuko and a part of Senketsu to go across Japan recovering pieces of Senketsu being used by Honnoji to boost their own uniforms' power. In the end, they succeed in their quest and Ryuko was able to repair Senkestu.
2 Junketsu: Its Primary Used By Satsuki Kiryiun
The best point in Junketsu's favor of being the strongest Kamui is the fact that its primarily used by Satsuki Kiryiun. How does Satsuki Kiryiun make Junkestu stronger? The answer comes from the fact that Satsuki's personality and skillset help to boost Junketsu's abilities.
The way that Satsuki boosts Junkestu's power is that her strong will prevents her from being overwhelmed by Junketsu's beastly nature. Satsuki's ability to control Junketsu allows her to channel its power and prevent it from going into a berserker-like state. This makes Junkestus more powerful by allowing Satsuki to use the Kamui power in a more refined and controlled manner than Ryuko.
1 Senketsu: The Power of Senketsu Kisaragi
The strongest example of why Senkestu is the most powerful Kamui comes down to one thing, that's his Seketsu Kisarai from. This form is accessed by Senkstu absorbing the power of Junkestu and all of the Goku Uniforms. This form also grants Senkestu several new abilities. For one, the Kisaragi form allows its users to fight in outer space. This form also has the power to absorb Life Libers and convince them to follow his commands.
Senketsu's Kisaragi form was only displayed in Ryuko's last battle against Ragyo. In this fight, the Kisaragi allow Ryuko to chase Ragyo up to the REVOCS satellite and prevent her from enslaving mankind through Life Fiber infused clothing. While the match was even for most of the fight, Senketsu's Life Fiber absorbing ability allowed Ryuko to finally defeat Ragyo.
