Kill La Kill first aired nearly seven years ago, and maintains a dedicated fan base. The first original TV anime from Studio Trigger, Kill La Kill managed to blend in multiple elements and create an experience that was not only unique narratively, but visually as well.

What tied the series together for most though was Ryuko, the tenacious, brash and stubborn protagonist that drove the series throughout its run. Many fans have paid tribute to her character with various kinds of fan art, and these are just some of the great works you can find online.

10 Casual Ryuko – SanHo

This list kicks off with a look that Ryuko doesn’t don very often throughout the show. Ryuko is usually wearing Senketsu for most of the series, so seeing her in her casual wear is an unexpected treat.

SanHo does a great job of capturing Ryuko’s confidence and charm with their work. The laid-back attitude and demeanor suits her perfectly.

9 On a Walk - もっちアイス

Yet another piece showing Ryoko in her casual wear, this work by もっちアイス has a much calmer vibe to it than other works you’ll see on this list. It has a fairly simple design, which helps everything really comes together nicely.

The pastel coloring coupled with the scenery creates a really nice atmosphere. What really makes this work stand out is how different it is in tone compared to other fan art of the series.

8 Pastel - 宇治

This pastel captures Ryuko while she’s in Senketsu’s transformed state. It has a noticeable more aggressive color scheme and shading compared to the last piece on this list.

宇治 has a unique style that pops off the page, and manages to capture Ryuko’s determination with their rendition. There’s not much going on in the background but that only helps draw you into Ryuko’s design.

7 Title Screen - 希尔顿凯

This piece from希尔顿凯 is the first so far that shows Ryuko in her standard sailor uniform. The piece really captures the style of the show well, and seems similar to something you’d see from the DVD/Blu-Ray artwork.

The artists’ style is perfectly suited for the series and it shows with this piece. This works is faithful to the original, while showing the artists’ unique traits.

6 A Battle Between Friends - にゃむてん

にゃむてん does a great job of capturing the battle between Ryoko and Mako from Episode 7 in this amazing piece of artwork.

The artist does a great job of capturing the intensity of the conflict, and does a really nice job of drawing the two in action. They have a very unique style and their attention to detail stands out with this amazing piece.

5 Transformation - しばいぬ

Kill La Kill’s most iconic sequence is probably the various character transformations into their Goku Uniforms and Kamui’s respectively. They’re flashy, exciting and leave a lasting impression on the viewer while offering just a small look into the show’s phenomenal visuals.

しばいぬ really does a nice job of replicating that with their rendition of the DVD box art. It looks pretty identical to the official work, but with a slightly muted color scheme that actually comes out better than what it was based on.

4 Fighting Machine - まろちゃん

Ryuko isn’t one to shy away from confrontation, and if there’s one aspect about her character that Kill La Kill drove home it’s that she’s more than happy to settle things with her fists.

This artwork of a transformed Ryuko and Senketsu really gets the intensity she displayed throughout the show’s fight sequences down. まろちゃん manages to create a pretty epic scene, with the focus of course being on Ryuko and her Scissor Blade.

3 Itchin’ To Fight – sonyoung

Ryuko certainly isn’t lacking confidence, at least not on the battlefield. This next piece from sonyoung captures her cocky side all too well.

The artwork is phenomenal. The artist manages to add their own spin on Ryuko’s design and the coloring and shading really jumps out at you. It manages to stay true to her character while standing out as its own thing, and that’s a great thing to see in fan art.

2 Fiber Lost - イワイ

Yet another action shot with Ryuko and Senketsu in the iconic Sailor Uniform look, イワイ draws a really nice action shot here. This is most likely a rendition of Ryuko’s trademark finisher, Fiber Lost (Sen-I-Soshitsu).

The artist’s use of vibrant colors is what really catches your eye with this one. They do a great job of capturing Ryuko’s intensity and fighting spirit, while nailing the dazzling visuals of the show.

1 Sibling Rivalry – Catmoonshiki

The battles between Ryuko and Satsuki were some of the best in the whole show. Satsuki excelled in the villain role before her mother came into the fold, and fans got to see some pretty intense bouts with her leading the charge.

Catmoonshiki does a great job paying tribute to both characters by perfectly recreating the intensity of their fights. The art is phenomenal, and the colors as well as the surroundings really jump out at you.
