Fox may be resetting the clock with "24: Legacy," a planned event series featuring new characters, but that doesn't mean we should count out Jack Bauer just yet.

Kiefer Sutherland, who starred in nine seasons of the action thriller, concedes he's not willing to say he's finished with the role. "I've said that twice and have been wrong," he tells Rolling Stone, "so I won't say that again."

The actor, who serves as a producer on the miniseries, says the script is "phenomenal," adding, "I think it's going to be incredibly liberating for the writers to not have to figure out one more bad day for Jack Bauer. They get to write for new characters. And Bauer's still out there, so you never know what's going to happen."

"Legacy" stars Corey Hawkins ("Straight Outta Compton") as a former Army Ranger who’s pulled back into action when is past comes looking for him. He eventually turns to CTU for help in saving his life and stopping a large-scale terrorist attack. He's joined by the likes of Miranda Otto, Jimmy Smits, Anna Diop, Teddy Sears and Ashely Thomas.
