Nickelodeon held its annual Kids' Choice Awards tonight in a virtual celebration, honoring its winners with videos and other fanfare.
The award show was originally scheduled to be held on March 22 in Inglewood, CA, but was postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Like many events and productions affected by the outbreak, however, it was ultimately held online rather that cancelled altogether.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe appeared to be a hit this year, with Avengers: Endgame winning as the KCA's favorite movie, plus Tom Holland's Spider-Man earning the prize for favorite superhero. Unsurprisingly, Frozen 2 was proclaimed the favorite animated film, and as a bonus, it also had the favorite for the category of male voice in an animated film: Josh Gad as Olaf the snowman.
Other winners included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who was chosen as favorite movie actor and acknowledged for his roles in both Hobbs & Shaw and Jumanji: The Next Level. Beyoncé got an award for voicing Nala in the remake of The Lion King.
In the television categories, the third season of Netflix's Stranger Things had a chance to shine, taking home the award for the favorite family TV show in spite of its spooky themes and tense action scenes. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the show, was chosen as the favorite female TV star.
Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards 2020 is produced by Nickelodeon Productions, with Michael Dempsey & Jay Schmalholz serving as executive producers.
