The comic book medium has seen many different styles of artwork over the years. Now, a Kickstarter campaign has been launched for the world's first glow-in-the-dark comic.

Break:Run is a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk comic that takes place on a deep space colony that has survived the fallout from a nuclear war. Former soldier Branko Nourbakhsh comes into conflict with his commanding officer Amon, and must battle bounty hunters while attempting to fight for a mining clan. Break:Run utilizes night luminous ink and a silkscreen printing process to create a glow in the dark effect for its art.

"I'm usually prone to hyperbole, but in this case this is actually a fact! No one has ever tried to create a full length glow-in-the-dark comic before," creator Nima Afshar said in a statement. "There is magic in physical books, an extra magic in one that glows." Afshar also listed his influences for the series, which include Akira and The Mandalorian, and even samurai cinema including Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.

Rewards for the Kickstarter campaign include a digital deluxe PDF, and sketches signed by Afshar. Afshar will even provide certain backers with materials explaining the process he used to create Break:Run. The campaign has surpassed its goal of $5,731, and has set an end goal of Feb. 20 for its campaign.
