Kick-Ass screenwriter Jane Goldman revealed she was the person tasked with coaching young star Chloë Grace Moretz through using "more adult" language.

"I was the one who would get dispatched to have the slightly awkward conversations about language and that kind of thing," Goldman told THR. "It was a nice atmosphere and I think Chloë felt safe. She was fine about saying the C-word — I hope she doesn't mind me saying this, but I remember thinking it was so sweet — because she felt comfortable saying that word because it was a girl's part."

Mortez was 12 years old while filming Kick-Ass and Goldman had a daughter that was around the same age, which is why director Matthew Vaughn asked the writer to have such conversations with her.

Goldman and Vaughn worked together on the script for Kick-Ass after previously collaborating on 2007's Stardust. The pair would again pen scripts for 2011's X-Men: First Class, 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
