WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from Nightwing #90, on sale now.

The moment the KGBeast shot Nightwing in the head, he condemned himself in the DC Universe. Nightwing is one of the most beloved people in the world of superheroes and as such, there is a legion of people who would automatically hold a grudge against the Russian assassin for his botched murder attempt.

In Nightwing #90 (by Tom Taylor, Geraldo Borges, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott), it was cemented that the KGBeast is the unluckiest man in the DCU. He was ambushed by Nightwing and the Flash, both of whom have a bone to pick with him. This is just the latest in a string of beatings the KGBeast has received because of what he did and odds are strong that it will never end.

Men working for Blockbuster had kidnapped Barbara Gordon, not knowing her true level of skill. This allowed Nightwing and the Flash to take her place in the van she was held in so they could ambush her kidnappers, only to discover that the KGBeast was one of them. Though surprised, the Flash was eager for this fight in particular. Wally West is Dick Grayson's best friend, and standing in front of him was the man who almost robbed him of that so now the KGBeast has a superpowered beating coming his way.

This isn't the first time someone has claimed vengeance for what he did to Nightwing however. After the initial assassination attempt, Batman tracked the KGBeast down and the two engaged in a brutal fight, culminating in Batman breaking his neck with a grappling gun. The KGBeast survived, but the injury was severe and he wouldn't be seen again for months.

When he did pop up again, it was only for Damian Wayne to sever his weaponized arm in an attempt to make the criminal underworld fear him, but also to claim revenge for his beloved older brother. More recently, the KGBeast was trapped in a room with Red Hood, who was backed up by zombified Gotham City villains and Two-Face In Task Force Z #5 (by Matthew Rosenberg, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Matt Santorelli, Jackson Herbert, Adriano Lucas, Rob Leigh). The man just can't seem to get away from what he did.

Odds are strong that he never will. The KGBeast is known for a few things within the DC Universe, most notably provoking Batman to break his code against killing. What he did to Nightwing though supersedes that. He almost claimed the life of one of the best parts of the superhero community, nearly robbing a father of his son and his siblings of a brother in the process. Even though the attempt wasn't fatal, the repercussions would be felt for months and even now Nightwing still has a literal weak spot around the area he was shot.

So at this moment, the list of people who want to punch the KGBeast or worse starts at Batman and can probably be traced through every major and minor hero active at this time. If the Flash, one of the gentlest heroes, was ecstatic to get the chance to beat on the KGBeast, then one can only imagine what other close partners of his must want to do to him.
