Edge of Spider-Verse #1 features a story titled "My Dame...My Destiny" by Dustin Weaver, D.J. Bryant and VC's Joe Caramagna. In a preview provided by Marvel, Spider-Man Noir returns and finds himself wrapped up in a new detective case. After entering into his office, grabbing a bottle of alcohol and taking a gander at some of his painful-looking wounds, Spider-Man Noir begins penning a letter for an unknown recipient. "I don't know how much time I have left, so I'm going to say this straight out: I am the Spider-Man," the letter reads. "My God, I've been yearning to tell you, but how could I tell you the crazy things going on in my head? How could I tell you I've been playing pretend, putting my pants on one leg at a time like everybody else except I'm not like everybody else."
