Paramount Pictures has snatched up "Substitute Teacher," a pitch based on a popular sketch from Comedy Central's "Key & Peele."

Deadline reports Keegan-Michael Key will reprise his role as Mr. Garvey, an intense inner-city substitute teacher who has trouble adjusting to a classroom filled with middle-class white students. Jordan Peele will play a rival teacher who's determined to be the kids' favorite.

"Key & Peele" co-producers Rich Talarico and Alex Rubens will write the script.

The series returns in July for its fifth season on Comedy Central.
