Scarlet Witch just got another major supporter. Writer-director Kevin Smith agrees with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige's opinion: Avengers' Wanda Maximoff could have defeated Thanos if the two had fought one-on-one.

"I watched Avengers twice today. Out of everyone who fought Thanos, Wanda came closest to killing him," Smith wrote in a Facebook post. "If he didn’t call for the 'Rain fire!' then the Scarlet Witch would have butchered the Mad Titan."

While discussing her upcoming show WandaVision at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Feige expressed a similar sentiment. "Wanda Maximoff, who is probably near the upper echelons of power -- I contend she would have taken down Thanos if he hadn’t called the [army], it was done," he said. "So her being the Scarlet Witch now, as Lizzie said on stage in a full sort of unabashed power-based [way], coming into the Doctor Strange movie."

Scarlet Witch confronted Thanos twice in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: once in Avengers: Infinity War, where she held him off with one hand and destroyed the Time Stone with the other, and again in Avengers: Endgame, where she unleashed the full force of her power on him after she Blipped back into existence. Both times, a distraction prevented her from accomplishing her goal. Perhaps, if she had focused on the Mad Titan instead of Vision in Infinity War, she could have stopped him right then and there.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is now available on Digital HD and arrives on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on Aug. 13.
