Up, up and away! In his latest Facebook video, director Kevin Smith took his fans behind the scenes of "Supergirl's" latest episode. Smith -- who will direct the season's eleventh episode, "Supergirl Lives" -- stands back and lets the production crew work their magic in the brief scene, which finds Melissa Benoist's Supergirl taking flight.

In Smith's video, Benoist hoisted into the air against a giant green screen. He praises the cast and crew for their work, repeatedly getting the team to applaud for one another. On several occasions, he speaks with Eric Carrasco, who co-wrote the episode.

The video follows four takes. Smith explains just how Benoist's flying scenes work, revealing that the actress must wear a full body harness beneath her costume in order for the scene to look realistic. He also asks Benoist to describe the feeling of flying, then lauds her work ethic and upbeat attitude.

Starring Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, "Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott and features appearances by Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant as well as Tyler Hoechlin's Superman.
