Kevin Smith shared photos on social media of how he looks after his dramatic weight loss since his heart attack in February. The film and television director looked much slimmer and he was -- 51 pounds slimmer.

Smith posted on his Instagram account full body shots of his trim new figure -- all while wearing his trademark baggy jersey and shorts -- and talked about his journey to get to this point.

“Six months ago from right now, I was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack I’d had the night before,” Smith wrote in his post. “When I went to my Doctor a week later, she told me ‘The best thing you can do for yourself now is to lose 50 pounds.’”

Smith, a Weight Watchers ambassador, stated he went from 256 pounds to 205 pounds, his lightest weight since his high school days. He jokingly hoped Weight Watchers would bring him down to his birth weight of 195.

All jokes aside, the Silent Bob portrayer is hopeful about his future health and thankful to all who have helped and inspired him along the way. Smith thanked magician and personality Penn Jillette "for his book Presto," author Ray Cronise and his "potato famine," the Weight Watchers program and app, and above all his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith.

Dubbing Harley, "the little vegan astronaut who explored this meatless/milkless galaxy ahead of me," Smith thanked his daughter for leading by example. "Since I never wanted to see the inside of a hospital ever again, I simply copied the Kid," he wrote.

Smith closed by clarifying he didn't simply diet, but changed his lifestyle and thanked everyone "for the kind and encouraging words along the way." "Never underestimate the power of positive feedback," he added. "An encouraging word can really make a difference in someone’s life and your compliments kept me going!"
