Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes have teamed up yet again, this time to create an action-figure-packed commercial full of DC characters with funny voices.

The spoof commercial featured Spinmaster toys based on Batman characters, which Smith received as part of his YouTube series What’s In The Box? The toy characters featured in the commercial, all of which were voiced by Smith and Mewes, included Nightwing, the Joker, Robin, Clayface and the Dark Knight himself.

Smith shared the commercial on his Instagram, saying, "...we shot a 'commercial' in my backyard with Josh Roush that was an homage to the action figure ads of our childhood! Watch this and see if we got close!"

Mewes and Smith have appeared together in many of Smith's films as the hilarious duo Jay and Silent Bob, including 1994's Clerks, 1995's Mallrats, 1997's Chasing Amy and 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Most recently, Smith and Mewes appeared as Jay and Silent Bob in 2019's Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which followed the two stoners on another journey to stop a Bluntman and Chronic film from being made.

Smith is currently working on a sequel to Mallrats as well as a third Clerks film. While not much is known about either film, Smith has said the Mallrats sequel, called Twilight of the Mallrats, will reference the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Neither film currently has a planned release date.
