Fan-favorite filmmaker Kevin Smith has been busy despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic's impact on the entertainment industry this year. In addition to showrunning and producing Netflix's animated revival series for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Smith is helming an upcoming horror comedy anthology film Kilroy Was Here, serving as cowriter and director while reuniting with several of his frequent creative collaborators.

As part of his traditional spotlight panel -- albeit, virtual this year due to the global health crisis -- as part of this weekend's Comic-Con@Home, Smith unveiled a first look at Kilroy Was Here, featuring a collection of short horror stories inspired by the iconic, eponymous graffiti introduced during World War II. The teaser trailer begins at the 48:23 mark of Smith's "An Evening with Kevin Smith" online panel.

The trailer features professional wrestler Chris Jericho as an alligator wrestler who finds himself on the wrong side of a hunt, Smith's podcasting partner Ralph Garman as a priest with a few dirty secrets of his own and Jason Mewes as a janitor who stumbles across something horrific. While Smith's signature comedy is present, the filmmaker does not pull his punches with graphic violence seen in the teaser.

Principal photography reportedly wrapped in October 2018, with Smith observing after the teaser's debut that he hopes the film will be released by early 2021, with a chance for it to appear in late 2020. It is currently unclear if the film is intended for a wide theatrical release or will premiere through VOD services.
