Justice League International fans will be thrilled to know that the team coming back, though not as part of DC Comics' ongoing Rebirth initiative.
DC is collecting the entire run of writers J.M. DeMatteis and Keith Giffen's popular mid-80s incarnation of its iconic superhero team in a single hardcover edition. Providing the cover is the artist who helped kick the era off, Kevin Maguire, who recently tweeted the complete image of the oversized collection's wraparound cover.
While the vast majority of the roster represented on the cover is by no means an accurate representation of DC Comics' A-List big guns, for fans who were collecting comics when the JLI was a thing, these are some of the biggest no-name characters in the DC Universe.
In addition to the JLI's more widely known heroes, including Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Flash, Maguire's image also includes G'nort, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire, Ice, Major Disaster and two (two!) incarnations of Maxwell Lord.
Maguire even squeezed in a few of the series' more notable villains, with Granny Goodness, the Joker and the Gray Man all standing amongst the crowd.
The Justice League International Omnibus arrives in stores October 17, 2017.
Batman leads a team of unlikely heroes in these satirical 1980s adventures co-starring Black Canary, Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Martian Manhunter, Mister Miracle and more. Can an unlikely new Justice League lineup work as a unit to stop terrorists at the U.N., the Royal Flush Gang, and other threats--or will they succumb to squabbling and bad jokes?
Pairing humor with hard-hitting action and heartfelt emotion, Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis, along with frequent illustrator Kevin Maguire, created one of the greatest iterations of the Justice League ever!
