WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Captain Marvel, in theaters now.

The Skrulls have been formally introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the antagonist groups in Captain Marvel. As some of the most persistent villains in the Marvel Universe, it makes sense for the alien race to reappear in future films in the franchise. Now, it looks like the Skrulls will return in the future of the MCU.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed as much, as reported by Comicbook.com. Feige discussed the possible return of the Skrulls in the MCU.

"Just like not all humans are bad, and not all humans are good, I think Skrulls probably have a variety of moralities amongst them," said Feige. "When they can do what they can do, it probably gets very tempting."

"It's fun to have introduced this concept and see where it goes," said Feige, referencing Captain Marvel's after-credits scene. "As we saw in the tag, she's with us now in the present day ... But those intervening years between her soaring off with Talos and answering Fury's call, we think is ripe with potential for storytelling."

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, McKenna Grace as a young Carol Danvers and Annette Bening as the Supreme Intelligence.
