The Fox-Disney merger might not be fully realized yet, but fans of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool are already wondering if the Merc with a Mouth survived the events of this year's Avengers: Infinity War. When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios is known for planning years ahead, so was Wade Wilson already secretly part of its bigger universe before Thanos invaded Xandar?Probably not.RELATED: Disney Intends to Release All Completed Fox Films After PurchaseMarvel Studios President Kevin Feige weighed in on Deadpool's fate as he walked the red carpet at last night's Britannia Awards. "Technically speaking, he was not in the MCU, he was not in that cinematic universe, so he was not affected, probably," Feige told Variety, adding that this was the first time he was ever asked about Deadpool with regards to Thanos' finger snap.

When asked if he'd want Deadpool to join the MCU, the head of Marvel's movie operations stayed mum on the subject of the buyout, replying, "What I will say is, for years and years the dream has been to have access to as many of our characters back, so that we can tell those stories at Marvel Studios. If and when that happens, I'll be very excited. We have ideas just from going back eighteen years, but nothing specific."

Deadpool currently belongs to 20th Century Fox, but Disney is in the process of re-acquiring Fox's Marvel characters, including both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. The deal will reportedly close as early as the start of the new year.
