There's been some doubt as to whether Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame, for all of the records it's broken so far during its incredible run, would manage to surpass James Cameron's Avatar at the box office. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige expects Endgame will have the record soon.Feige revealed the news at Comic-Con International in San Diego at the Marvel Studios presentation, according to Ryan Penagos on Twitter. Feige has "gotten word that [Endgame] will be the #1 film of all time in a matter of days."
As of writing, Endgame sits at $2.782 billion worldwide, extremely close to Avatar's record $2.787 billion.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is set for release on Digital HD on July 30 and Blu-ray and 4K UHD on Aug. 13.
