While discussing the future of Marvel Studios in television, President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment Kevin Feige lent a defense to earlier TV shows based on Marvel Comics characters, such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Feige was asked about why his approach is potentially more successful than that of previous Marvel TV, wrote Alex Zalben on Twitter. Shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Daredevil were made by the studio Marvel Television back when it was a separate entity from Marvel Studios. Marvel Television was founded in June 2010 and proceeded to spend nearly a decade making television programs for various channels and streaming services. The label was responsible for shows ranging from Legion to The Runaways. Marvel Television was absorbed into Marvel Studios in the Fall of 2019, bringing its days as a standalone creation to an end.

The focus now for Marvel characters on the small screen is on providing shows for the Disney+ streaming platform. These include WandaVision, which is in the middle of its first season, as well as upcoming programs like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Ms. Marvel.
