It's no secret the DC Extended Universe has some course correcting to do after the disappointment that was Justice League. With Geoff Johns now moving into writing and production on Warner Bros.' film side even more, steps seem to be in motion. As such, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has also chimed in with a piece of advice for the studio, and it's for the DCEU to harness the magic of Richard Donner's Superman flicks.

Feige made the recommendation at the Ant-Man and the Wasp press junket, referencing the movie that is seen as the definitive, big screen version of Superman, as played by Christopher Reeve.

When Feige was asked how Warner Bros. might be able to get the DCEU back on track, he responded: "I always hesitate to come off as the person who is bestowing advice on people. It's not really what I do. What I do know is, they're great characters. I'm not shy about saying, Richard Donner’s Superman, I still think, is the paradigm by which we all still should follow. It's all there."

Donner directed Superman in 1978 and Superman II two years later, and despite Kal-El/Clark Kent fending off the likes of Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) and genocidal Kryptonians, it had a lighthearted feel and warmth.
