WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Kevin Can F**K Himself Season 1, Episode 5, "New Patty," now available on AMC.
In Kevin Can F**k Himself, Allison (Annie Murphy) needs the least amount of eyes on her as possible as she plots to kill her neglectful husband, Kevin (Eric Petersen). It's why she's not partaking in drunken binges for her depression, and instead, coaxes their neighbor, Patty (Mary Hollis Inboden) into helping her out. Unfortunately, as the women devise their scheme, they have a couple new, dangerous enemies on their trail complicating things.
The first is Detective Tammy Ridgeway (Candice Coke), who was at the pharmacy during the bust that took Patty's pill dealer down. This led to Patty's supply drying up in Worcester, but she's worried because if her pharmacist contact snitches, she'll be arrested too.
Luckily, nothing's been said, but Tammy suspects something's up with Patty, monitoring her personal life, salon and basically just about any move she makes. She even visits and lets her know that she thinks Patty had a hand in the dealing as she doesn't like how Patty reacted when she got spotted in the crowd during the bust.
Tammy even hints that she's going to be pressuring their mutual friend more to capture Patty, and the sad thing is, if she's onto Patty now, once the detective figures out Patty's part of a murder conspiracy, it'll get even worse.
As for the next problem, it comes with Nick (Robin Taylor Lord), who breaks into Patty's salon. She thinks he's there to score but he makes it clear that all the women who were buying oxycontin from Patty were patsies. They weren't in pain -- most of them were actually faking it and getting the pills for him. In other words, he turned Patty into a wholesale business and he's the retailer.
He doesn't care if her supplier got booked, he's got people knocking on his door, so she needs to get a new dealer. He's got customers with a lot of cash to spill and old debts to pay off, so one way or the other, Patty needs to find a solution. Nick's threatening her; showing up around her house, sensing she and Allison are up to something. If he places pressure on Allison, or just follows them incognito, he may even discover their plan to kill Kevin.
The icing on the cake comes when Tammy spots Nick at the salon, which is basically a smoking gun for Patty. She's now linked to a junkie, and with both the cops and criminals on Patty's case, it's dawning on Allison that she chose the wrong partner for the job and may need to cut Patty loose to attain her goal.
