In AMC's Kevin Can F**k Himself, Allison (Annie Murphy) has cut a deceitful figure as she plots to kill her husband. She's had enough of Kevin's (Eric Petersen) neglect and wants to secretly poison him, making it look like an accidental overdose. Now, Allison finally admits the truth to a familiar face, and she gets an ally out of pity.
On previous episodes of Kevin Can F**k Himself, Allison lied to Patty (Mary Hollis Inboden) about why she needed drugs, initially telling the dealer that it was for herself to cope with Kevin's idiocy. She then rejigged this, saying she got drunk and stole a guy's stash at a bar, and now she owes him or he'll kill her. She further lies by saying the guy wants the pills back, not cash, which leads Patty to take her on a road trip after her own supplier gets caught.
In actuality, Allison's the one who got Patty's dealer busted, but Patty doesn't know that, so she's just being a good neighbor. But when they leave Worcester for a couple hours, things get sketchy. Patty's contact isn't there and his younger dealers try to rip the ladies off, eventually sending them to some shady folks in the forest. Patty's skeptical, but she can tell Allison is desperate so she heads in, only to return with a gun.
Allison freaks out because she thought Patty was in danger, but that panic turns to anger and confusion when she sees the gun. She wanted oxycontin, not a weapon. Patty, though, brokered a different deal, as she feels Allison needs protection for the shakedown. So, Allison keeps the lie up until they make a gas stop and she tries to buy drugs off a random trucker. To her shock, Patty assaults him with the gun, thinking he is the person after Allison.
This leads to a tense scene, where a cop pulls them over, only to let them off with a warning. As it turns out, Kevin thought the car was stolen so he reported it missing, which angers Allison because she told him repeatedly but he never listens when she speaks. Then and there, she confesses to Patty that she plans to murder Kevin for the years of emotional damage and trauma.
Patty's offended over the lying at first, but begins to sympathize since her own family experience was filled with depression and suicide. As such, she agrees to drive Allison to another dealer. It's a big move, considering she's faked being friends with Kevin for a decade while her brother, Neil, is his best friend.
But she realizes Allison needs her agency back, and ultimately, a win in life. Sadly, after the assault at the gas station, camera footage may send cops after them and should they get caught with drugs and a gun, they may not be able to lie their way out. Things could also get nasty on Kevin Can F**k Himself if Allison owns up to damaging Patty's business.
