As part of Disney+ Day, Lucasfilm released a sizzle reel from its upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The reel didn’t feature any actual footage from the show, but it did show numerous pieces of concept art. From Obi-Wan in his desert attire to scenes of colorful nightlife on an unidentified planet, the art set up a really cool tone for the series. There was one piece, however, that has attracted a lot of attention from Star Wars fans and prompted some debates amongst the fandom.

The drawing shows what appears to be an Imperial inquisitor, flanked by two Stormtroopers. It doesn’t appear to be just any inquisitor, though. The figure looks an awful lot like the Second Sister from the Jedi: Fallen Order video game. Many fans recognized the resemblance and became excited that a character created for the game could be making her live-action debut. Despite fans’ initial excitement, however, there are way too many continuity issues for the Second Sister to appear in the Kenobi series.

The Second Sister, who was the former Jedi Padawan Trilla Suduri, first appeared in Jedi: Fallen Order. She relentlessly pursued Cal Kestis – the player’s character – for most of the game as they both sought after a holocron that contained a list of Force-sensitive children across the galaxy. Then, at the very end of the game, the Second Sister met her demise. Having failed her mission, Vader cut her down, just as she seemingly returned to the Light Side.

Trilla is a great character to bring into live-action, but there is a timeline issue. Jedi: Fallen Order took place in 14 BBY, while the events in Kenobi happen in 9 BBY. That means that when Kenobi takes place, the Second Sister has already been dead for five years. Some fans have suggested that Vader only wounded Trilla, but that assumption is almost definitely wrong. The truth is, in the Dark Lord’s eyes, Trilla had failed her mission, but she had also failed in her purpose as an inquisitor. Once she showed even an inkling of letting the Light Side of the Force back into herself, Vader no longer had any use for her. That’s why he killed her, not as punishment for her failure but for her uselessness going forward. So, it’s unlikely that Trilla was the one in the concept art.

Star Wars 5th Brother and 7th Sister

If it is, indeed, Trilla, she could only appear in a flashback sequence, and that would be oddly specific for concept art. Additionally, she doesn’t have any direct story relevance to Obi-Wan or Anakin that would need to be defined in a flashback. Finally, the inquisitor’s ship in the concept art is some kind of a shuttle, and the Second Sister piloted an Advanced TIE fighter in Fallen Order. So, it seems more likely that Trilla isn’t the one in the art at all.

While the art looks like the Second Sister, it could actually be the Seventh Sister From Star Wars Rebels. They have nearly the same build and they both wear helmets. The Seventh Sister's is a bit more pointed on top, but Rebels’ animation could have v=been a factor in that. Another piece of evidence is that the Fifth Brother has been rumored to take part in the Kenobi series, and he has been known to work with the Seventh Sister in the past, so it would make sense for them to show up together. Of course, this is all subject to change because the images are only concept art, but it seems much more likely that the Seventh Sister would appear than the Second Sister.

To see who the inquisitor in the concept art really is, watch Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ in 2022.
