It's no secret that tons of anime end with heroes getting together with or marrying someone from their group. A lot of fans may not realize that some of their favorite anime protagonists actually ended up having kids. Many Shonen heroes went on to have children, some of which now have their very own shows.

Others like Tokyo Ghoul's Ken Kaneki never had a child in the anime, but fans who read the manga know the ultimate fate of the ghouls. The ten characters below are made up of both parents tons of fans know and some that may come as a shock to fans that never indulged in a series' manga.

10 Ken Kaneki

As it turns out, Ken grows up quite a bit in the manga and is a far cry from his crying self at the beginning of the series. Unsurprisingly, Ken ended up marrying Touka, another ghoul that took care of him in the beginning.

The two had one child together, a young girl named Ichika, that looks just like her father. Despite being half-ghoul, Ichika appears to be a normal little girl and even has the ability to eat human food.

9 Holo

Holo is from the romance series Spice and Wolf, where she ended up falling for a merchant named Lawrence and eventually marrying him by the end of the series. The two then go on to have a daughter named Myuri.

Instead of just being briefly shown like some other children on this list, Myuri gets her own light novel series, Wolf and Parchment, where she goes on her very own adventure, much like her parents.

8 Naruto Uzumaki

For fans that dropped out of the anime loop, it may come as a surprise that Naruto actually ended up settling down with Hinata and having two children with her. These children include a boy named Boruto and a girl named Himawari.

Boruto takes after his father while Himawari takes after Hinata. Boruto now has his own series where he goes toe to toe with the dangers of the ninja world, much like his father did in the past.

7 Yuki Kuran

On the more complicated side of things is Vampire Knights protagonist Yuki Kuran's two children. Her firstborn was fathered by Kaname right before he died and named Ai, while her second daughter is from Zero and named Ren. This is a strange topic, as it is the only series where the protagonist manages to get with and have children with both suitors, which some fans were very confused by.

6 Inuyasha

Inuyasha was the fiery half-demon that, for most of his series, was conflicted with his love for Kikyo, his former lover, and Kagome, her reincarnation from the future. In the end, Kikyo ended up dying again, and he chose Kagome.

The two went on to have a girl named Moroha, who is one of the stars of the new series, Yashime, and goes on an adventure to help Sesshomaru's daughters uncover the truth behind their dad.

5 Sadou Maou

The Devil is a Part-Timer! was an incredibly popular series that ended up only getting a single anime season, despite the light novels going on for much longer. The show pitted a hero and Satan against each other until they were brought to Earth.

In a strange twist, Maou ends up having a daughter with Emi named Alas. The girl is appointed as the two's daughter and revolves around a fragment that plays an integral role in the series.

4 Ichigo Kurasaki

The end of Bleach saw some fan-favorite couples getting together, including Ichigo and Orihime. After the two settled down, they ended up have a son together, who mainly resembles Ichigo in appearance.

Their son's name is Kazui, who is shown playing a very minor role at the end of the series that alludes to him having incredibly strong powers.

3 Kenshin Himura

When Rurouni Kenshin begins, Kenshin was already 28 years old and looking to settle down somewhere peaceful. In fact, he would have much rather avoided ever fighting again if he could have helped it.

Kenshin did end up meeting and marrying Kaoru, a female samurai, and had a child with her. The two have one son together named Kenji, who, like most kids on this list, ends up resembling his father.

2 Tohru Honda

A ton of the cast from Fruits Basket ends up getting married and having kids, including Tohru and Kyo. The pair have three kids, two of which aren't named; the main child the series sequel focuses on is named Hajime.

Hajime resembles Kyo and attends the same school that his parents did, where he is a member of the student council and begins to make friends with those around him.

1 Usagi Tsukino

One of the most famous mothers in anime is Sailor Moon herself, who, along with her husband Mamoru, had a single child. As many fans know, the child's name is Usagi as well, but typically goes by Chibiusa.

Chibiusa appears in the second arc of the series, where Usagi is shocked to learn she is her daughter. After the series ends, Chibiusa takes up Sailor Moon's mantle as protector of Earth and gets her own Sailor Scout team.
