Kelsey Grammer has no problem playing the same character again. After all, he famously portrayed Frasier Crane for 20 years, first on Cheers and then on its long-running spinoff Frasier. So when he learned that Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past might offer a chance for him to reprise his role as Beast from 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, the actor leaped at the chance.

“Actually I called Bryan," Grammer tells Collider. "I bumped into Hugh Jackman and he said, ‘Oh you’re gonna be in another X-Men, mate!’ and I said, ‘No I’m not, I don’t know anything about it.’ So I made a couple of inquiries, got a hold of the script, found out that it’s primarily dealing with the past and that timeline I don’t have a place in, but I saw that at the end there was this coda where he made an appearance. I said, ‘Listen, I really wanna be involved,’ so Bryan arranged for it and I had a lovely time.”

And that's not all for Grammer, who said he's game to return for future installments. “I hope to do another," he said. "I hope they find some way to come up with a new story that involves Beast in my timeline.”

Grammer can next be seen on the big screen in Transformers: Age of Extinction opening June 27. X-Men: Apocalypse, the next installment of the Fox franchise, arrives May 27, 2016.
