Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked whether David would be open to voicing Beta Ray Bill in the MCU, the actor responded enthusiastically. "In a NY minute," wrote David, expressing his excitement at playing a CGI take on the Marvel alien. Some fans suspect that the beloved Korbinite may make his big-screen debut sooner than expected. Following the release of the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, enthusiasts immediately discovered several shots that seem to have been edited to remove a character; Many fans believe the missing entity to be Beta Ray Bill. Others have suggested that it could be returning characters such as Loki or Lady Sif. Marvel Studios has a history of digitally altering trailers to hide key parts of a film, evidenced by Spider-Man: No Way Home's trailer which scrubbed actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.

David's acting career has spanned several decades both on-screen and in the recording booth. While he has starred in cult-classic films such as The Thing and They Live, David's voice-acting portfolio is also expansive. He's widely recognized for voicing Spawn in the self-titled HBO animated series as well as Dr. Facilier in The Princess and the Frog. He has also appeared in Mass Effect, Rick & Morty, Adventure Time and Community.
