According to Marvel Comics' just released solicitations, the first final issue of a Marvel NOW! series will hit in September as Joe Keatinge and Rich Elson's "Morbius: The Living Vampire" finishes its run with its ninth issue. Wrapping up two-part arc "The World Breaks Everyone," the issue will presumably put a cap on the adventures of Morbius in the unseen area of New York.

While unfortunate, "Morbius'" cancellation isn't much of a surprise. The series was consistently one of Marvel's lowest-selling ongoing series (the only ongoing Marvel books it outsold in May were "Red She-Hulk" #65 and "Fury MAX" #12.) with mixed critical and fan reception. However, "Morbius: The Living Vampire" actually lasted one month longer than the first batch of DC Comics' New 52 titles that ended to make room for DC's Second Wave -- and it's the only Marvel NOW! series ending in October. However, Marvel has had its fair share of cancellation announcements in recent months with both James Asmus' "Gambit" ongoing and Peter David's long-running "X-Factor" coming to an end.
