Keanu Reeves has again said that he'd like to play Wolverine, and now that Hugh Jackman has stepped down from the role, perhaps the ageless wonder that currently stars in the John Wick franchise could step into the part. As reported yesterday, when asked about his past interest in Batman and Wolverine, Reeves said, "Of the two, I'd love to play Wolverine."Well, fan artist BossLogic heard Reeves' declaration and released a mock-up of what that might look like:

It's certainly an interesting notion, the thought of Neo from The Matrix playing the surly Canadian mutant. Age really shouldn't be a concern, since the character isn't young and Reeves is still plenty action movie capable, as proven by his turn as the hitman John Wick. While the character in the comics stands only about five feet, three inches, and Reeves is about six feet, one inch, he's still a couple inches shorter than Hugh Jackman. Granted, Wolverine's height has mostly been overlooked in the past 17 years.

About 90 minutes after the initial tweet, BossLogic released a followup, this time with a John Wick reference built into it...

Marvel hasn't announced what they plan to do with the X-Men characters since reacquiring the film rights, but you can be sure that Wolverine will show up eventually. As for Reeves, he's been rather busy lately, currently promoting his newest movie, Replicas, which releases Jan. 11, 2019. After that he has several more projects in the works, including John Wick 3: Parabellum on May 17, Toy Story 4 on June 21, and then eventually, Bill & Ted Face the Music.
