Although he never completely left the world of film, Keanu Reeves had a brief period in the 2000's where he wasn't as omnipresent in as many blockbusters as he previously had been. That changed with John Wick, which jump started a new phase of his career. With the third film in the series set to be released later this year, Reeves is open about how much he wants to continue with the role.
During an interview with GQ, Reeves spoke about how much he's enjoyed playing the action hero, explaining that he would love to play the character for as long as he can. When asked how long he'd like to play the character, Reeves said “As far as my legs can take me... as far as the audience wants to go.”
Reeves is also the first to admit that he wasn't expecting to be starring in an action franchise at this age, but that he's more than happy with the development. “I haven't really thought about my career future, or what was going to happen, until really recently,” he explained.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum opens on May 17 in theaters everywhere. It stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, Jason Mantzoukas, Lance Reddick and Anjelica Huston.
