With John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum opening in theaters everywhere in less than a month, star Keanu Reeves gamely catches up audiences that missed the first two installments in a quick recap.
In a 60-second video with IGN, Reeves breathlessly recounts the events of the first two films in the acclaimed action franchise to prepare new viewers for the upcoming sequel.
In the 2014 original film, Reeves' eponymous hitman emerged from retirement after his dog was killed and his car was stolen by the son of a Russian mob boss. In its 2017 sequel, an Italian mafioso contract John to kill his sister before he attempted to kill the assassin himself. And Reeves is impressively able to revisit both films without missing a beat.
The upcoming sequel looks to pick up immediately after the conclusion of its predecessor with John still on the run from the world's top assassins after a multi-million dollar bounty has been placed on his head for breaking one of the Continental's most sacred rules. With the contract killer attempting to desperately escape from New York City in one piece, hopefully John can move as quickly as Reeves' recap.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, Jason Mantzoukas, Lance Reddick and Anjelica Huston. It opens on May 17 in theaters everywhere.
